Spacing - TV between speakers
« on: 21 May 2016, 06:11 pm »
Hi.
I have SCSTs 72" apart with a 46" TV in between but recessed a few inches. I am looking to upgrade the TV to a 65". The TV width will go from 44" to 57"...essentially halving the space between the speaker and the screen on each side from 14" to 7". Should this be a concern?

Thanks,
Greg

My HT2-TL's are 98" apart center-to-center on either side of a 60" on the wall and still have a solid center image, the speakers are toed in a little. I do cover the TV with a nice lightweight Mexican blanket when listening to music, the blanket improves image focus and depth.

When I had a large RPTV between my speakers, I used some thin Realtraps on stands to put right next to each speaker, between the two speakers. I thought that helped a lot.   I never compared with a blanket, though, and blanket would be a lot cheaper.

These are what I used:

Yikes!  $270 each, so $540.  (Ah, to be single and spend money on frivolous stuff.  Now my money goes to kids and house.)  Even I would try the blanket first.  ;-)
