I am putting my GR-Research speakers up for sale.
This is a 5.0 setup. Front/Left NTL3, Center N3s, Rear Left/Rear Right AV1RS.
All speakers but the AV1RS have No Rez, Sonicaps and Mills Resistors upgrades, Electra Cable Tube Connectors. All in roughly $3500 in to build these out. All Walnut Stained with Waterlox Original Sealer Finish.
Looking to get $2000 $1900 for all items.
SOLD Single NS3 - $400 375 + Shipping
SOLD AV1RS - $400 375 + Shipping
SOLD N3TL - $1200 $1150 $1000 $900 for mains
Prefer a local sale to 97006.
Might consider shipping Centers and Rears maybe but probably not the mains as I have no boxing for any of these items.
The center channel and rears were built by Ruben in 2013.
The mains were not built by Ruben. I am trying to recall who built them. There are some small imperfections on the mains. The bases I sent back to them to redo and still not perfect with nicks, etc.
Also the black front pieces have a small gap in certain places.
All speakers have magnetic grills.
Here are some pics as well.

+1 on that. Have a pair of N3s in the upstairs bonus room. For now it's a 4.1 system.

Someone wants to add these to there 2017 upgrade list....... :thumb:

Man, that's an incredible deal.

Actually can't believe they are still not sold.

Actually can't believe they are still not sold.
Might have to do with shipping.
I don't think there are huge audiophiles in my area to sell locally.
-
Probably right. That always is an issue (I'd have the same problem with something heavy). I got my N3s via a trade (for MoFi bookshelves) and it was a pain to carry them up a very big flight of stairs (have high ceiling so it is like a flight and a half) and put them in place. I toyed with the idea of using them in one of the downstairs systems, one of which I mainly use for HT (have 20+ year old B&W P6s as mains that I am the original owner) but has an amp and preamp (with HT Bypass) but the width of the bases of the N3s and no center channel dictated where they are now. I just moved things around and have an old Oppo BDP-93 up there with hard drives with lots of files both CD quality and higher.

Speaking of shipping, there is a pair of LS6 on Audiogon right now, local pickup only. They're somewhere on the East Coast, I believe.

I know someone wants these...help a guy out. :green:

The center and rears have sold.
The mains are still available.

What a deal for a great pair of speakers. For those who haven't heard them, the N3Tl's are fantastic :thumb:

The FEDEX Office stores have heavy shipping cartons that measure 15 x 15 x 48 for $10 each. You would need some additional packing material, and their transportation fee for two packages that size will not be cheap.
But it would make possible to ship to a faraway wanna-be purchaser.
-
1 inch styrofoam from Lowes/HD/Rona is my fav packing material for speakers. Completely surround the speaker with the foam and barring a 5 story building or a forklift fork you are good.
-
Styrofoam is good and you can take it further if you wish... All of our finished cabinets go out first wrapped in a tight cling/plastic to stop any rubbing directly on finished surfaces. We then try to suround the cabinet with at least 3" of styrofoam on all sides... even the flat packs have lots of styrofoam . We typically have the styrofoam cut on a hot wire cnc machine to get a perfect fit
And nope, shipping is not cheap, looking into a freight company may be a good opton too.... try someone like YRC etc.. For packages that size , you'll get charged on weight alone and may not need a pallet

Price drop - $900 + Shipping.

Chip,
Are the speakers hooked up for listening?
I'm staying in NE Portland for 2 or 3 weeks caring for my mother. She's in a rehabilitation facility recovering from nasty pneumonia. I get time off for good behavior.
I'm going to drive up to Ferndale to audition the new Apollo speakers next week.

I can hook them up in where they are on hardwood floors with t-amp and iphone or put them in the small living room with the Pioneer Elite sc-25 and play pandora/music from my server.
Let me know.

Chip,
My apologies for not following up with you. I'm no longer in the market for speakers as I have found them in Ferndale, WA. 8)
