Sad news, he seemed a truly nice man as well as talented artist.

Yes, sad, but 85 is a nice full life. My dad died last year at 92, still in reasonably good health, but he had started losing his memory, and after enough adventure to fill 5 lives, he was ready to let go.

I saw him open for Waylon a number of years back. He looked and performed like a classic Grand old Opry performer. Taylored blue suit with embroidery. Quality musical performance. RIP
