Does anyone have any good recommendations of where to find piano sheet music online? I have a good site I use for guitar but haven't found a good place yet for piano other than some random songs here and there. Looking for a mix of both new and old of all genres.
-
Just to clarify, looking for a subscription type of place where you don't have to buy individual songs. I have no need for the ones offering midi and ability to transcribe.
-
Did you try Musician's Friend?
-
Thanks Phil. Just checked it out but they only have ones for individual sale. What I'm looking for is one that I can just browse around - kind of like spotify or tidal but for piano notes

That is where I get most of my guitar sheet music.
-
Thanks! Will check it out.
Bob - if you just want some quick guidance for popular songs, check out ultimate guitar tabs and chords. It's little bit of a hit and miss but being a beginner guitarist it has been good for me. I use the pay version of the android app version so I can just click on the chords and it show me how. The website has way too many ads but the app is great on a tablet. I'm l more skilled at piano so the full notes sheets from the type of site you and Phil recommended is more fun

Found the following two sites with out of copyright classical music: http://www.sheetmusicfox.com
And http://imslp.org/wiki/Main_Page
Was a bit overwhelming so need to spend some time and look more at those sites :D

Odal3,
Active Melody is great site for guitar lessons. Some sheet music from each lesson...
-
That looks really good. Thank you! I promised myself to not get an electric guitar until I can play my acoustic much better, so this is perfect. Been stuck at the same beginner's level for years since I never seems to find enough time to practice.

Brodt Music in Charlotte, NC is an awesome place. Went to their
store just to look around and was amazed. Place has been around
for a good many years and staff really know what they are talking about.
Oh, and they will ship.

Thanks dflee. Looks like they have a good collection. Will look into it more. A quick look looked like they required installation of special software to view them. Are you familiar with the scorch? I have never heard about it before.

I'm looking to try something new and only use my tablet to show the notes instead of prints.

What about scribd's subscription model? https://www.scribd.com/sheetmusic
Is this a legal site?

If this is too much off topic you can disregard the suggestion, but since you mentioned guitar I would also recommend the Power Tab Editor and the Power Tab Archive (PTA) for your consideration. I've been downloading and submitting Power Tabs to the Archive probably since 2002. I know you said you don't require MIDI playback or the ability to transcribe, but Power Tab has been very useful for keeping a record (in standard notation as well as tablature) of the stuff I've been transcribing and working on. You can download 'completed' Power Tabs from various sites on the web, but the cool thing about the PTA is that the tabs need to be approved by the moderators before they can be submitted there.
And while the Power Tab Editor may not be the very best in this kind of software--I'm not the very best guitar player either--it's certainly worth the price of admission at least, which is FREE. We like that.
-
Nice. Will need yo try that too. So how can I find your tabs?
-
Some of them could probably use some updates by now, but you should be able to download them here:

A few of these have appeared on other sites (generated as text, not by me), like these:

Thanks again Larkston Zinaspic for the links!
Here are some short, fun and simple enough for me to play scores by Maxcence Cyrin. Available via his website:
https://maxencecyrin.fr/partitions2/
Especially like the cover of Pixies -Where Is My Mind.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NZdggNUvq0
China Club is a fun play as well

He has also done a really good piano cover of Nirvana's Lithium:

It's funny how one thing lead to another:
Here's a very dedicated piano teacher that has transcribed a lot of popular piano music: http://www.annemievanriel.be/YouTubeZoekPiano.html
and even video taped and uploaded the instructions to youtube for those into that: https://www.youtube.com/user/AnnemieVR/featured
Since I'm not familiar with the website, just be cautious and download at your own risk
