BR2 Remote - IR-LED frequency and wavelength
« on: 3 Sep 2015, 02:58 pm »
Hi,

What is the center frequency and wavelenght of the IR-LED used by the BR2 remote ?

Is it standard 38Khz  and 930–950nm ?

I need to find a good matching IR receiver/demodulator.

I want to use an Arduino board to decode the BR2 unused button (in my setup) to control some LED strip lighting...  :-)

Thanks!

Take care!

Hi:

The IR emitter is a Vishay TSAL4400.  It's peak wavelength is 940nm, and we do operate it a 38K.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Thank you for the info.

I just remembered that you post most of your schematic on your web site...

Looking at the schematic for the BP-26, I can see that you use the Rohm RPM6938 as the IR receiver/demodulator.

I'll just order a few of those for development and testing.

Are you able to provide me with the protocol specification used by the BR-2 IR stream ?

Thank you for your time.

Take care!

Hi Mike,

I managed to reverse engineered the protocol on my own.

Thanks any way!

(I have a rough-prototype working on an arduino.  Cool!  :-))

Take care!
