I was really saddened today to see that
Pete Burns, legendary frontman of Dead or Alive, passed away today at 57. Dead or Alive burst onto the scene with their cover of the
KC & The Sunshine Band song "That's the Way" but was much better known for
You Spin Me Round (Like a Record). As a kid I was more of a metal head but I always had a love of New Wave music in general and particularly
DOA. In later years I read that Burns was a bit of a sensation from several reality shows that he participated in and he was notorious for his self described addiction to plastic surgery.
The last I had heard of them was their phenomenal
Nukleopatra album from '95.
RIP, Pete Burns. You were a wild one and will be greatly missed.
