SP1.7 Firmwaer Upgrade Help.
« on: 23 Jan 2004, 10:16 pm »
Just received the firmware upgrade "kit" from Bryston this afternoon.  I was expecting just one EEPROM chip but there are two (one is a 32-pin WideDIP EEPROM and the other is a 32-pin squarish package with pins on all sides).

The instructions talk about the 32-pin WideDIP EEPROM so I know what to do with it.  But what do I do with the other one???

I would really appreciate it if someone could let me know so that I can finish this upgrade project this weekend.

Thanks.

HI CP,

This is not a firewire upgrade kit - it is a software upgrade. The eprome is for the software which goes on the microprocessor board at the front of the SP1.7 and the other chip is a firmware chip which goes on the DSP board.

I believed we have talked on the phone since this was posted.

James,

Thanks for your reply.  Yes, we had talked about this after I posted this.
