Vandersteen 2WQ Bass Performance
« on: 15 Nov 2014, 01:31 pm »
I have been sucessfully using Definitive Technology (original) supercube subs for years, they are the best I've found for ultra deep, tight, robust and musical bass. On occasion I like to let it rip with hard rock and metal, the super cubes are unflapable, they can handle anything you throw at them and always stay composed (no speed limit). I'm considering switching to Vandersteen 2WQ but wih 8" drivers I'm a little concerned they might not be up to the task, can anyone comment on their ability to stay composed when pushed during intense passages?

first of all there are three 8"drivers.
Second Vandersteen speakers or subs
are known mostly for their Musicality not
Tyrannosaurus foot stomps or Shuttle launches.

I used 2 series speakers with one then two 2wq
subs. For 95% of all music it was more than adequate.

not familar with your subs...nor the size of your room or
the spl levels you prefer.  We all have unique perceptions and preferences.
