I've been using and icon ido for years now with either an ipod touch (3rd gen), iphone 4s and an ipod classic (7th gen) with wonderful results; never a glitch. My question is, will the ido work with the 5th generation ipod? I checked the manual and it says the ido works with the ipod classic, which I thought the 5th gen ipod was. As I wasn't positive, I checked wikipedia and it says the classic designation started with the 6th generation.

I've tried it now with two different 5th gen ipods with unsuccessful results. Thanks.

It does not work with iOS.
You can get something similar to Icon iDo from Celsus Sound Companion One, but with more features.
or the Encore mDSD.

I have four devices that work fine with the ido so I'm good with it. I use the digital out to feed another dac. Actually use two of them now. Just won't use the 5th gen ipod with the ido.

The Celsus Sound Companion One looks like a nifty little device but I'm all set there.
