For those of you that have had bryston pre with a 2.5 and moved up in power in the line up what did you gain in terms of delivery to your ears.  Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike

I had a B100-SST for 5 years -- it's a BP16 pre + 2B in one chassis.

Moved then to 4B2 and BP17.

Very substantial upgrade in sonics: better dynamics, higher resolution, and much lower noise floor.

cheers

I think you will only gain more power. Nothing more. You have a great combo. Enjoy it  :thumb:

I'm very happy with it but I would be tempted with more power to hear what it could do.

Why not ask your dealer to give you a 4B3 for a week and compare it with your 2.5. For the dfference of price, I think the 4B is a better buy than the 3B. Better resale value.

I went from a 3BSTT32 to the 2.5B3.  That move was definitely an upgrade.  Unless you're clipping the 2.5, I wouldn't worry too much about it.  Shift those funds to others areas.

That would be a rare dealer, indeed.
