Songtowers and VSTs - Distance From Back Wall
« on: 19 Sep 2014, 04:19 pm »
Dave Upton's Veracity HT2-TL review suggests that the HT2-TLs need a decent amount of room to breathe - 3 feet from the back wall in his optimal position.  I have the Std. STs and am looking to upgrade to the VSTs.  Do the VSTs and HT2-TLs need more room to breathe than the Std. STs?  My STs are currently about 2 feet from the back wall, but they can't be moved out any further.

If ported, you could move the port to the front and keep your location assuming the response is still adequate there.

All speakers benefit from greater distance to the rear wall.  The Veracity ST's and HT2-TL's could use a little more room.  But if the Supercharged SongTowers are working for you at 2 feet distance, the ST's would likely work as well.  We recommend 18- 24" minimum and you are at 24".  You should be good.

I have my VSTs slightly toed in with the closest corner to the back wall being 26".
