The KEY with sushi rice it to rinse it till the water is clear and then rinse some more.

Just get short grained Japanese rice and cook in a rice cooker.  you can just mix in rice vinegar to the cooked rice or actually heat up a vinegar/sugar/salt mixture and fold into the rice as you cool it.

Experimenting and finding right wine for sushi is fun.  Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Condrieu, Chablis, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Champagne all have merit.  You can't really go wrong.  :wine:

Nice work on the sushi. How did the rice work out? (That's the hardest part, I've given up.)

Baked winter veg and marinated salmon for me.

Thanks John.  I rinse the rice well and the add the vinegar, sugar, salt mixture.  I still need more practice...but it's starting to come together much better.

No biggie.  Whipped some eggs with a lil sour creme and red salsa and put em on a couple tortillas.  Thru in a half can of peas, small can  :dunno:.

 oooh, that looks good Trung! Don't know if I could get Jason to go for it.... nice presentation. I'm either too lazy or too slow to take pics of the food I cook.  :roll:Not sure which, as by the time I reach for the camera food is already gone LOL. Last night made burritos with Guacamole from scratch, in my granite molcajete, Pico de Gallo, homemade refried beans (sadly, not refried in Bacon grease, just olive oil), and some shredded lettuce and grated cheese. Tonight, am making tacos with yesterday's left overs, ground beef with sauted garlic and chopped onion plus the fixings above in a soft corn tortilla! While listening to J's Yellow Piano/Sensation, Elisa's Album "Heart" :) He's not home yet...hehe :icon_twisted:

What kind of salsa? Zucchini pancakes....sounds like those could be either sweet or salty....?

Not that you asked me, but I make my zucchini pancakes with creme fraiche and a spicy apple puree... sort of a twist on the Jewish classic.
