OB dual sub question.
« on: 24 May 2020, 09:44 pm »
I see most people when building an OB H frame sub have opposing drivers in them. What is the difference or disadvantage to having both drivers facing out toward the listener?

From most of the talk I've seen in other threads, there isn't much difference in terms of sound quality, with at most, a slight preference for dual forward-facing drivers. It's mostly a means to balance out the weight distribution from the magnets/coils.

Forward subs might cause the subs to tilt back, but it can be remedied with spikes on carpet or an extra isolation pad on the rear with elevated or hard floors.
