Hi all! I know this isn't strictly GR related, but I also know Gary was near and dear to many here. I have two pieces that need some work:
1- Battery powered Dodd Pre-amp, the right channel is cutting in and out.
2- Battery powered 15wpc Dodd Amp - won't light up at all, bricked. My guess it's that tricky power supply.
Anyone know of a technician who could help me out in the Los Angeles area?
THANKS!!
Adam

Adam,
Some things the tech will want to know.
1) Is the volume cutting in/out as you change it? Or is it doing that one its own?
2) Gary's battery amps used a 6VDC regulator IC for the tube filaments and not the HV supply, so it may not be as bad a repair problem. Have you checked the fuse?

1 - It's doing it on it's own.
2 - That's good news. Yes the fuse is OK, but I'll check again.

Charlie Cocci was a close friend of Gary's and also shared Gary's passion and skills with electronics. Charlie has been servicing Gary's gear for a while and I am sure he can take care of your issues.
Shoot me an e-mail and I will forward you a number for Charlie.
