LoFi signal into LIO
« on: 20 Nov 2016, 06:05 pm »
This is strictly for parties in which I'm trying to run background music through the LIO.  There are a few options I can come up with

1) Logitech Media Server to Squeezelite app on MicroRendu (internet radio)
2) Amazon Echo dot (voice controlled which is nice, however the output is a 3.5mm jack.  Could I use an adapter and go to the phono input?)
3) toslink from Airport Express.

Thoughts?

Edit:  I could also get one of those Audioengine bluetooth inputs I guess and sync the echo dot to it.  It's sooooo easy to just say "Alexa play christmas music channel" when people are over and critical listening isn't required.

Thx in advance.

Do you use Roon and/or Tidal?  If so, that's all you need.  Even if you have Roon or JRiver you can have it play random tracks.
