Nick, are running an ASIO driver or WASAPI? I am using ASIO4ALL with my DAC and it sounds better in the mid-range than WASAPI does.

A weird thing with JRiver that I can't figure out. I ripped some new flacs, put them in the folder that JRiver is watching. Some of the albums appeared in the JRiver library, and some didn't. I have it set to automatic monitor and I forced a scan, but they still didn't appear. Tags look OK. I think the only ones I'm not seeing are all from the same box set. Any ideas? Thanks
Happy New Year!!
Rich

Edit: I found them under Album Artist tag instead of under Artist tag. Have to make a different plan for classical music tags in JRiver.

What are the correct settings to enable WDM driver?  I set JRiver MC 20 as the default in the audio devices, JRiver shows lpc and it appears to be "playing" but I have no sound output to laptop speakers.  Do I need to change some settings in MC?  I running windows 8.1

lost...

Thank You

Disable then Enable the JRiver Media Center device.

I have disabled/enabled, changed settings to and fro and still can't get sound from laptop speakers using JRMC as my default device. I can get sound with Realtek set as my default of course.  Dunno what else to try.

I am wondering why are you not seeing JRiver Media Center 20 under a Speakers device heading with a Speaker icon?  The TV screen icon is normally associated with an HDMI audio device.

I wonder if all audio playback devices are being displayed.  If you right-click on a playback device are Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices checked?

SRB, I do have those boxes checked.  Ted_b, Yes I have and still no sound.  I will try the HDMI output to my receiver as well as usb DAC tomorrow to see if I get any sound through those devices, though I am not optimistic at this point.  I must be missing something.

If you didn't yourself rename Speakers to "JRiver Media Center 20" and also change the icon, you can check exactly what hardware it represents by right-clicking and choosing Properties.  If in fact it is for the HDMI audio, you should see something like "HDMI Digital Jack" under Jack Information on the General Tab.
