Hi,
I’m using BDP-II with new Bryston IAD,together with BDA-3 & Denon DCD SX-1. However after I’ve updated the latest firmware on the early October, I found the the Denon SX-1 no longer support DSD files played by BDP-2(USB Connection). While the BDA-3 remains normal; on the other hand I’ve tried to connect Denon DCD DX-1 with other DSD Capable Media Players as well as Computer (JRiver), the Denon DCD SX-1 remains normal with DSD Playback.

That’s why I came to the conclusion that there is something wrong with the latest BDP-2 firmware.

What can I do? Or is there a newer BDP-2 firmware to solve this issue?

Please let me know...

Thanks for your concerns...

Peter Ip

You don't have the checkbox next to your denon checked to indicate that its DSD capable.  Once checked and saved you should see DSD enabled next to it like you do with the bda-3.

Thanks for your fast response and help...
The audio setting has changed for unknown reason, but it works now...

Thanks!

Hi guys
I'm having a problem with my bdp1 saving playlists. It saves them but sometimes just for one day sometimes for several days
Just started doing this a week ago. I started making small temporary lists just to see if it would save them, didn't work. I do shut it off every night. I've tried refreshing cache, update database, unplugging power. All my music is there and accessible just won't save a playlist
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks
Robin

Which version of the firmware is installed on the BDP? Can you check Disk Information to see what file system the user partition is using, fat or ext?

hi Chris
s1.75 2014-05-01
NTFS   I think my drives used to be fat 32
I did some backing up of drives and my computer apparently defaulted to NTFS and it doesn't give me an option of fat 32
it seems to be losing files and playlists each time I update or add music files
thanks

You could try a factory reset, but the loony loon user space isn't as resilient as the one found in manic moose.  Upgrading to manic moose would be the better option, I'll leave a link at the bottom of the page.

Not really sure what your asking, the link above describes installing manic moose.  The latest official release of manic moose is S2.36 and was released last month.

Updating the bdp's zfirmware has no effect on mpad.

Hello everyone!

Any help with my issue is greatly appreciated.

After a power outage in my area, my trusty and beloved BDP-1 (serial 000125) refuses to boot and only produces the 09 error code.
The player syncs with the BDA-1 for a while during each boot process.
There are no local drives - only Ethernet connection - and the software is (or was before the incident) a recent version of MM.
One strange thing is the the SW version is now shown as 2010-10-19 which I believe was the very first version available.
The serial cable has been cleaned and reinstalled, and all other cables and also the flash card have been checked for looseness.
Are there any ideas about what I can do next to get it going?

The temporary lock between the DAC and the Player would indicate that the Linux system and mainboard are functioning correctly.  Assuming you've checked the correct cable (grey ribbon cable) then its not likely said cable either and either the serial has failed on the mainboard or the serial to uart chip has failed.  I'd recommend getting in contact with us to have the unit serviced, you can contact via phone or email.

hi chris - is it possible to switch between MPD and Roon (in the BDP1) without going into "Services" to manually toggle?

thanks!
