Open Baffle Bass
« on: 10 Aug 2017, 02:24 pm »
good morning All,

I am looking to add some bass to my horn system. I am using a pair of Jericho horns which carries a Fostex 208 sigma driver (8inch).
My thought is an Eminence Alpha 15 in an open baffle configuration.

Comments, suggestion on driver to use  and dimensions on build would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

I would suggest you look into GR research OB subs. They are fast, tight with good impact, without being boomy.

If you can locate a pair, Hawthorne Audio made a wonderful bass driver called the Augie. They were made in both 10" and 15" size.

Another option would be Pure Audio Project 15" woofers. Made by Eminence and supposed to be an improvement over the Alpha 15.

If your handy "H" frame OB with GR research drivers. Fast and high sensitivity for da horns. Prices are fair as well.

Hi Guys,

Thank you very much for your responses.
Think I will speak to Danny about the GR Research OBs since I am speaking to him about some tweeters for the horns.
