Tim and Bob
Be careful and let us know you're safe after Mathew moves through.

Thank you for your concern. All is well at the moment. I'm expecting a bit of wind and rain but nothing too severe.
I'm well stocked up with single malt, beer and wine so I'm ready in case I have to bunker down.
Tomorrow is when the worst is expected. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks Mark.  I'm in the Tampa area.  Should be a non-event for us if the projections hold true.

In addition to stocking up on booze, don't forget about toilet paper.
Be safe fellas.

Glad to hear you guys are well away from landfall  :thumb: My youngest just moved to Hudson (just north of Tampa). She's getting a fair amount of rain but no real strong winds.

Tim, have a dram for me while your at it  I'll probably see you guys in the spring.

Hudson is just a little north of Bob and NE of me. It would be great to catch up next time you're down this way.
Storm Update: A little breezy and rain so far. Nothing to be concerned about. On the plus side, my commute this morning was very easy. I took about half the usual time.

WIDESPREAD EXTENSIVE TO DEVASTATING WIND IMPACTS WILL BE FELT.
AIRBORNE DEBRIS LOFTED BY EXTREME WINDS WILL BE CAPABLE OF BREACHING
STRUCTURES, UNPROTECTED WINDOWS AND VEHICLES. EFFECTS SUCH AS THESE
RANGING FROM THE COAST TO WELL INLAND HAVE NOT BEEN EXPERIENCED IN
CENTRAL FLORIDA IN DECADES.

LOCAL WINDS WILL EXCEED WHAT OCCURRED DURING THE HURRICANES OF
2004. ANY EVACUATIONS AND STRUCTURE PREPARATION SHOULD BE COMPLETED
THIS AFTERNOON. TRAVEL WILL BE STRONGLY DISCOURAGED BEGINNING AT DUSK.
EXPECT WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES.
=======================================

Be safe all. Prayers are with you.

The east coast got hammered pretty hard. The beautiful and very old town of St Augustine ended up underwater.
On the west coast we had nothing more than gusty wind and rain.
