Audio items up for auction in STL
« on: 19 May 2016, 07:11 pm »
A member gave me the heads-up to this auction and asked if I'd pass it along to the GASSERS.
Looks like a few neat items in there. Not sure who is selling it though.

A small encomium:

All those microphones in this auction! Old, vintage, some rare. This is when I think of John Blaine fondly. He not only would have recognized every one of those microphones, he could have told you the merits, demerits, and specs of each one.

He's been in heaven for some time now. I'll bet he's already turned God into an audiophile. Eternally.

May he rest musically,

Francis Baumli

I certainly hope so. Although, there is evidence God may have already been an audiophile:

 I think God has better taste than that.
In fact, I imagine he's a OB kinda guy.  8)

So is anyone else going to be there? I will be there for a little while, just hope what I want comes up early.

I plan to go.

Leaving from Maplewood, and I should have an extra carpool seat.

I'll probably grab an early breakfast at Living Room or Pint Size.  All welcome.

My avatar photo was taken at 7am, coffee please.

Dear Bob in St. Louis,

You state that you think God is an OB type of guy. My wife, as a physician, delivers babies. So this means she does obstetrics, which obstetricians refer to as "OB." Are you saying God only listens to music when he is delivering babies? Or do you means something else by OB?

Infinitely baffled,

Rich, that's a time piece for sure. Yes, I believe you may be correct, I "need" that.

Believe it or not, I had one of those, once upon a time.

It was in the late 80's, my son and I took it and all my old 8 track tapes, loaded them on the burn pile in the north 40 and burned the lot of them.  :flame:
