Hi Gang!
I'm new to Audio Circle, but not to hifi. I was selling Mac, SAE, Phase Linear, and Carver back in the early 80s. I guess I'm kinda old school.
Hey, I'm considering trying a pair of Class D amps to drive my Audio Physic Classic 30s. Is there a profound preference for the current iterations of either ICE or Hypex these days, or should I just base my purchase on price and reputation?
Thanks!

What's the rest of your system?

I'm a bit of a nutjob with three systems. And I've got a wife and two teenage girls, so systems need to integrate into a family lifestyle.
My main living room system is the Classic 30s driven right now by a Margules amp/preamp with a custom Rega RP6/Ortofon 2M Black and an Oppo 105 universal player -- Nordost Red Dawn loom.
My basement system is a bit of a Franken-sys; DIY Pass/Lowther bi-amped system using a Threshold amp for the woofers and a Dennis Had SET for the Lowthers. Front end is a bluetooth receiver and a NAD Master SACD player. Cables are DIY and Acoustic Zen.
I've got a pretty sweeeeet setup in my vacation home/man cave. ASL 845 monoblocks running PureAudioProject Trio15 OB speakers, a 2-box Canary preamp (very sweet), a Pro-ject 10 ttbl with a Soundsmith Aria HO cart, and a PS Audio PerfectWave Transport, PS Audio DAC, and P3 line conditioner. I love this system the most, but it takes up a bit of real estate, and wouldn't fit in my home. Alas!
Great times sharing great music with friends over food and wine any chance I get...

Welcome.
Class D is probably still on the learning curve. Example: Earlier this year I upgraded my Channel Island Audio D-100 (their original 100 watt Hypex based class D mono-blocks) with 70 watt class D Temple Audio mono-blocks for less than half the size/price. You can read about my impressions on the Critics Circle here at AC.

My first separates were Phase Linear (and I owned most of their stuff in those days) around late 1979 or early 1980 (when I was 5 years old of course :green:)
