Title: Mac Mini running using Black Lightning
Post by: targa02 on 3 Feb 2012, 09:56 pm
Hi,

Has anyone modified their 2010 or later Mac Mini to use Black Lightning?  I am exploring various options to improve the stock PS and Vinnie's Black Lightning seems like a great solution (granted my knowledge of electronics is shallow).

Thanks to all responses!

I'm getting my new mini moded to run off my battery bank using a PI Audio buss, so Vinnie should be able to do the same thing with his Black Lightning. You have to have the minis' power supply removed and replace the a/c power receptacle with a d/c one. I'm also using Spatial program.

Hi Mike,

Are you having Mach2Music modify your mini?

My mini was modified by Charles from Spatial, except for the conversion to d/c which was done by Dave at PI Audio. But I am told that Mach2music do pretty much the same mods and will also do the d/c conversion.
