jjdog2: Your "yard" must be full of deer to get all of these great wildlife shots. Do you live in the country in a rural area, or have the deer just taken over?

Thanks. We live out a little surrounded by woods and fields.

Great shot!
It's been a couple years since I shot insects. If memory serves, this is the last photo I took of bugs:

You should try moving in a little closer. Not much detail in those bugs.

This photo was captured in a sudden downpour of rain at the Dortmund Street Carnival (Kirmes) in Germany. The image of the young girl with her scooter in front of the "Panic Room" attraction is both interesting and disturbing... perhaps like some sort of kid's nightmare.

A7r will mostly be used for landscapes, that won't start until June here. Love your Germany series, spent 2.5 yrs in Germany shooting film but lost most of it coming back to the states.

A test shot: a7r w/TS-E 24mm.

PeteG: From what I can see of your A7r images, I'm just loving the IQ. I'm sure that the photos look even better before they're compressed and posted via the internet. The clarity and quality of the light is great.

Out shooting some Daffodils yesterday.

jjdog2: Fun to see some macro shots. We had plenty of great macros last year during the summer (bugs & flowers) season. Let's see what pops again soon, as we're getting into the warmer weather. Hopefully, JonL will contribute.

Here are some not-so-typical, wide-angle tourist shots of the Dom Cathedral in Cologne/Köln, Germany. Reputably, this church is home to a giant, golden box that is supposed to contain the relic remains (body parts) of the Magi. They no longer allow the public that close to the box, and that area of the church is closed off. I remember seeing it several times years ago. Nonetheless, this is an impressive structure that survived the war. BTW, the photo of the young couple snuggling in the pew was the warmest place in the house!

Wow. Some really amazing pictures here. Nature macros, landscapes, cityscapes etc. I hope to pick up a lot by looking at what and why you folks captured what you did. Very educational.

Storm clouds were gathering sometime back in December last year and I was just starting to experiment with the X100. This was fired on all auto, but I like how it turned out:
