Yeah, tell us lots more!

Start with the day you were born and give us the complete journey that brought you to where you are today.

OK, OK, just start from your first tube experience.

Seriously though, how do they compare with what they replaced?

I've been bumping into a bunch of comments and/or references to these lately, but I've never heard any. Do tell us your impressions!

I could be outside your door in under three hours (not that I suffer from an addiction or anything).

Good find!

Very curious as well.

What version is this?

How about a little commentary on the "replaced" amp and how this compares... specifically interested in the SET qualities- Prominent glowing mid range etc..

ok...  I am moving soon and the new living arrangements will not support my dipole  speakers.   I found an outstanding  deal on a used pair of Endeavor Audio E-3's. My current 45 SET & 2A3 SET amps will not drive the 90db 4ohm load presented by the E-3's.  About 2 years ago ,I meet Jack from Electra Fidelity @ his Vegas home.  Jack introduced me to his 211 mono blocks and was blown away by the 211's iron fisted grace.  I remember sitting there in awe and quickly realizing Big Tubes are the Real Deal..  I obtained a Teddy Pardo chip amp (which is awesome!)  and waited for a used 211/845 to magically appear  :thumb: Thank you MCA.  You are my hero  :green:  The 845 feels more like the 2a3 than 45 to me.  The 845's do not lose their composure with E-3's as the volume knob is turned up.  845 is more visceral / engaging compared to  45 / 2A3.   The tones / textures feel more pronounced with 845.   845 is not as transparent / holographic compared to the 45 but a small price to surrender given soo many other ++++'s.  The 845 tube is a beast , dares you to play it louder and, if given the chance, will burn your house down !  #BIGTUBELOVE

In the picture above with the guy holding the back of his hand against the transformers, do you know what speakers those are, the reddish ones?

Those are Sonist Concerto 4's. I have a pair as well, but I don't know what the little wooden box is that is sitting on top?

Did you buy the pair of Elrog tubes that were on Audiogon? How are they sounding? Still happy with the amps? I will be bringing my Dehavilland amps to a get together today to hear them on a pair of GR Research Super V's, looking forward to it!

yep.   obtained the Elrog's for cheap.     Smooth. Resolved. Insightful.  I would easily pay $1700 for these tubes.. I was impreesed with the EML 45 & 2A3.  The Elrog's are a step beyond the EML's.   Gotta Luv the passion these tubes unleash :)
