I don't necessarily agree that smaller is better. Here's my 3.6/Rs in my room: 13 ft wide by 7 ft tall by about 20 feet deep. Definitely NOT too much speaker for the room.

Powered by great Audio by VanAlstine solid state electronics ( ca 300W into 4 ohms), and play mostly vinyl (now on VPI Classic).  Buy Minnesotan, and Buy American !
Buy the best you can afford !

Good luck, and Happy listening !

Mark

Sorry Mark i don't agree, the 3.7 are way to big for that space, even a pair of 1.7s would be borderline i know because i had a pair in a room about the same size while waiting for my Acoustat 1+1s to be built my speakers are 14x96x4 inches in a 13x8x20 feet living room and i am borderline i would appreciate a few feet wider BUT i must live with the space i have BUT the Magnepans 1.6 where to large for my room, panels need room to BREATHE.

PS: You are using your 3.7s at 50% of their potential.
