bdp1 reset
« on: 28 May 2012, 04:32 pm »
Hi guys...was downloading new software on the weekend. All went well until the very end
screen on bdp says BDP-1 is rebooting....then new date comes up   2010-10-19....then initializing......then shuts itself off.  When I power it back up it appears It went backwards as far as updateing went.....but my biggest concern is after 25 seconds of initailizing....it powers down.  My question is there some way to do a manual reset....hard to do when it shuts itself off before I can access the menu.....dead bdp-1
thanks in advance for any ideas
Robin

I had issues with the front panel as well so i just cleared my browser cache, relogged into the http://bryston-bdp-1.local and did the reset there from the settings.   That seemed to work.. of course I couldn't get the update to work via the webpage so I just ran the firmware script locally.

Dear Robin,

I am experiencing the exact problem you have. How did you solve it?

Thats a different issue and will require a phone call or reflashing of the cf card.

Chris,
We have the BDP-2 working great. It downloaded the new firmware today no problem. Do you think I should tackle my BDP-1 and download maniac moose?
Cheers,
