I love it FRM.  I wonder if there's some made with heavier material than Styrofoam.  So I checked real quick on eBay and it looks like there are several variations, some with bases that might work better as headphone stands, but the idea is still great.

OK this stand will outbest the Milford screw.
This is a real Stand for $2,50 only, and you can exercise your painter skills and color it to your liking with crayons from yours children.

I would be curious to know if those glass models are certified Memorex safe in case one were to hit the play button on the reel to reel by mistake with the headphones on the manikin ...;)

Hi brooklyn,
I like your headphone stand,
simple to make and inexpensive,
but I would stain it a more or less dark(er) color.

dB Cooper

I got this holder with my $80+/- Sennheiser 485's. My $500 HD650's came with... a nice box. Go figure. Anyway, this one (which Senn sells separately for $29 last time I checked) holds my 650's just fine. C&C

Search Amazon for 'banana holder' and you'll find some other good improvised holders.

Here's a nice one for $16.99:

I'm working on stands for my IEM's made out of paper clips

Mine is a door stop screwed into the side of the night stand. Simple and effective.

Hi timid,
cheaper (Read : Inexpensive) than that...
You put down the headphones directly on the desk.

Hi Guy, I was thinking of staining it but not sure what color..

I do like the headphone holder db Cooper has and I actually had one
on my radar.. but found a few pieces of wood at work and the peg board
holder.

timind, I have to admit, the door stop is even more low tech and simple then mine.. Nice job..

  • NOTORiOUS!
It's funny how easy banana hangers work for a while... it also really matters what the design of your headphones are... e.g. the Pyle or whatever doesn't work for ones with thin headbands and ones like the Svelking can stretch things out.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
Currently my stand is it-about $1:

All you guys using banana hangers etc, get a pool noodle from the dollar store and cut a piece to fit over the hanger. Save yourself from those headband dents!
