Folks are in for a treat, I met Klaus with Pumpkinman and Vinyl Lady at the most recent CAF. He had 2 rooms, it was amazing how good his gear sounds, and never mind the 'cost to received value' quotient is off the charts. In fact, I have to go find my CAF brochure to find the complete system he demo-ed at CAF, a friend just bought a house and she asked me to help her pick out gear, that system may be just the ticket for her.  :thumb:

There's coverage on the web too such as -  http://www.stereophile.com/content/2014-capital-audio-fest-day-two-evening

Thanks Phil, actually I went back to the RMAF thread in Klaus' circle and found what I wanted;

I know this is old but Axpona is just around the corner. Was wondering what goodies are going to be set up at the show for us to taste and what are some of the objectives of those attending regarding Odyssey. One of my objectives is to hopefully hear the difference between stereo and mono setups. Also to get some info on tube rolling with my Candela as I am new to the tube thing.

I really like the Candela (bought the demo from the 2013 Capital Audiofest) and have it in a secondary system.  Outperforms much more expensive stuff for sure.

In my system with Candela, I had tried RCA Cleartop, Baldwin, CBS 5814, Sylvania, Mullard, 7316 Amperex small O, & Psvane 12au7 MK II. Of all the above the best results in my system is the Psvane, and second would be 7316. But in my friend's system is the other way around. I had also tried the Amperex 12au7 Foil D Getter, but I still like the psvane. So it is really all about your own personal taste.

That's a mighty interesting system you have, AlTran.  Listen well.

A fuzzy phone picture but here's the gear and Klaus.

Klaus story:

This was the first time I've met Klaus face to face so I wasn't prepared:
There were 5 of us sitting in the room with Klaus all listening intently to a selection.  He had the volume control and slowly brought it down so he could speak.  He looked all 5 of us over and pointed to one of us and said (paraphrased...) "What the f... is your problem?"  and just let the question hang.  I think there were 5 heart attacks all going on the same time.  He paused for a few seconds and then continued while pointing to the other 4 of us "A client....a client....a client...a client - now, what are you going to do about that?"

Funniest damn way of trying to get a new client I had ever seen in my life.  We were all laughing - poor 5th guy just pointed and said "But I'm with him!"

Klaus - you might not have wanted to go to AXPONA but I certainly do appreciate that you were there.  I didn't listen to every room and to be blunt there were a few speakers there that were better than what you have.  However - I will never have the $15,000 or much more to purchase them.  What you have may someday (I have three kids in college - that will take a big chunk of free cash out of your pocket!) be in my listening room.

Thanks big guy!   :thumb:

Okay, I laughed my ass off when I read that. Thank you, now I need to go to the ER and have my backside reattached.

Symphonic Line Kraft 250 amp - go to the Symphonic line thread and there is a picture of it in black.  But this does give you an idea of the size of that thing.

Thanks for that.

In the other thread it looks kind of small compared to the pic above ;-)

Hey Klaus,

Hope AXPONA went well for you. Wish there was something like this in Florida. I know you wouldn't have time to make it here, but it would be awesome. Hope you were able to get some rest while you were away from the shop. I'm loving my Cyclops and Suspiro combo! They rock me like a hurricane.  :thumb:

I visited Odyssey on Sunday at Axpona. Klaus seemed tired. Good to meet you Klaus.

I had never experienced any of his products before. The room was a typical hotel room. Klaus was getting some good sound though. I'm impressed with the fit and finish of Odyssey products. An excellent value for the money.

Odyssey was clearly  one of the best five rooms at AXPONA. I know I'll be buying an amp.

Klaus had the best soundstage of any setup at the show. The speakers simply disappeared. It was very impressive.

Thanks guys.....well,  here are my 2 cents about the show...

- rooms sucked more than other hotels around the country...terrible. Then again, everybody had to deal with it to the same extent...blaming the rooms is an easy way out for some...
- hotel was not as accommodating in getting furniture out of the way...sucked as much as $ 25 parking/day...for a freaking airport hotel, for Pete's sake....
- the buffet at the Casino 3 blocks away absolutely rocked !!!!!
- was I happy with the show ???  Well,  I signed up for next year as well....business from the show was and still is FANTASTIC...enough said..
- was I happy with the sound ???  Yes and no...yes in that we kicked some serious (not all ) 6 figure system's butts.  I was still able to get my 3 points across:  goosebump emotions, huge and realistic sound staging,  and dead-on non-fatiguing tonality....
- best time at the show ???  Meeting up with old friends, and when a few people that I trust 100 % (and there aren't that many) such as Kenny Stevens from CAT and George from Kyomi  dropped their jaws when listening to the system....extremely satisfying...also,  when Ira went downstairs a couple of times, and when she overheard quite a few people talking up Odyssey...that was extremely satisfying to her....
worst time at the show ???  When the freaking TT started to give me fits....didn't even play a dozen songs on the thing before the motor went haywire.....and of course, that happened just before Jon Valin and Julie came in with a stack of records to listen to.....aaaaaaargh

Aaron,  nope, most people don't have a clue unless they meet me...I don't really give a damn about correctness, and just enjoy the moment and people...if somebody has a problem with my straightforwardness or my humor,  they can go and buy Chinese.....

Anyway,  all in all also an easy show with just 3 hours drive...was able to hook up the trailer,  had some extra space, and that's why I also took the SL Kraft amp with me...as I have always said,  there are 3 amps that I regard as the absolute best I have ever heard (and yes, I have heard a ton...but not necessarily in a system that i am familiar with) which are the Symphonic Line Krafts, the CAT's and the LAMM hybrids....all fantastic, and actually all quite similar.......anyway,  I went back and forth to the Kraft to show just how similar the Khartagos are to the big monster......reactions were usually that of astonishment regarding the similarities, and I'd say that people were somewhat divided as to which unit sounded better...in that system at that show...

So,  back in the grind,  but also happily back with my 2 babies and of course some gardening which Ira makes me do (yeahhhright)

Late,
Klaus

I had the opportunity to meet Klaus and spend some time listening to the system in the room. Since I have both the Khartago and Candela it was quite impressive how they made those speakers sound especially the Stevie Ray song. I chatted briefly with Klaus and had intended to get back on Saturday to chat further but man there is so much to see at this show. I hope you had a good show Klaus and will look forward to seeing you again next year. I live in Florida as well and if you are wanting to take a little trip to some sunny place it could/may be possible to get you to a club meeting in the Tampa/Sarasota area?

Great as always Klaus. It would be neat to have seen a video of the system playing with the Khartagos and then followed by the same tracks with the Symphonic Line amp, kinda like the $2200 system vs $6900 system from last year. Even on my iPad I could hear a distinct difference but in this case it would be how close they perform...

I'm getting more and more excited for the Kismet Monos! I can fly out to Indiana and help knock out some orders if that helps... :D
