Tweeters in older 3a Generation II models
« on: 14 Jan 2008, 06:50 pm »
Wondering if anyone here can help me in identifying the tweeters that came with 3a Generation II line of speakers that came out back in 1989 and were made in France.

Just got my hands on a very rare 3a M2 that I'm in the process of updating. Unfortunately, the tweeters aren't original since I don't recall any of 3a's MM, M1, M3, M5 or MS5 models having a soft done tweeter with medal cage over the voice coil. The 3a M2 has the same driver complement as the 3a MM and M1. If anyone knows or can take a peek inside their 3a Gen II speaker I would be much obliged.

Cheers!
Rolly

Thanks Benson!!

Wow, so the tweeters that came with my M2's are original. Highly unusual since the rest of the line was using Vifa D26TG tweeters.

Out of curiosity do you recall what the values were for the first-order crossover on the tweeter.

Here's a picture of my speakers that I'm about to update.

Cheers!
