Here's one of my latest pics from last evening's Gateway Audio Society's first reference recording.

Here's the shot info;

Tv(Shutter Speed) - 1/4Sec.
Av(Aperture Value) - F3.5
Exposure Compensation - 0
ISO Speed - 100
Focal Length - 28.0 mm

As usual I shot this without a flash. I resized it in Photoshop (5) and also did some minor color balance correction (blue).

Actually it was...
This can be a thread where all of you photog's out there can post a picture you've taken (recent or old) that you think other people will enjoy.
No worries though Pete. Just pic some of your favorite pics you've taken, upload them and make a post  :thumb

My mistake

But here's a pic, I was hunting and looking out at Utah from the Colorado side.

You know, you should also post a little caption along with the picture so we can identify the subject matter...
Thanks for all the nice looking pictures!

Long Exposures can be a real challenge, especially when the shutters snap as hard as they do in my 30D.
This is one of my Radii monoblocks with winged SED EL-34's, Mullard 12au7's and Herbie's tube dampers.

Tv(Shutter Speed) - 10Sec.
Av(Aperture Value) - F3.5
Exposure Compensation - 0
ISO Speed - 400
Lens - EF28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Focal Length - 28.0 mm
Image size - 3504 x 2336 (cropped in PS)

Hey!

    very nice Scott. :D

Wouldn't it be very scary if they start to glow like that right after you turn it on?  :icon_lol:

I hope tube newbies will know the different between the real life look and tricked photography of tubes. Imagine they buy tube amp for the first time, turn it on and see it glow like picture above... they probably say... "Cool! look just like the picture I saw on the web!"

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

PS

I've seen tube (EL34) meltdown before on my previous tube amp... and it was truly scary

Thanks Buddy,

Yep, I've watched this same amp nuke at least 4 tubes. It puts on one heck of a light show. I figured out which part in the circuit was killing the tubes and replaced all of them (it was the B+ resistor). Thankfully, they have been pretty stable since I did that (though I still keep a stock of that value resistor just in case).

I just had to compose this shot of a Sunday morning in the Historical Center of Mexico City. Luckily, the almost surreal events happening around me allowed me to casually get this shot.

Mexico City has an abundance of police officers, both male and female (yes, this one). On this Sunday there was a bike event in the city, as well as a free Shakira concert that evening at 8pm. Needless to say there was a lot of activity in that part of the city. I later learned that 200,000 crowded into the Zocalo until after midnight.
