Which 5751 is best for a Phono Pre-

Need to change my 5751 tubes in my joule electra OPS-1- which tube is the best or highly rec. for a phono preamp- thanks

To me the best all around 5751 is the GE 3 mica Black plate...Other 5751's are also great, but found the GE to have the best balance all around...

Can't go wrong with any of the tubes already mentioned.  Let's not forget the RCA black plates as well.  I just rolled in the GE 3 mica black plates a few days ago and yes it has more oomph than others but I found them to be a bit less refined than the RCA in the upper mids.

Jud is retired and not likely to reply.

Without commenting on a specific brand, I was a beta tester for Joule in the early years and we discovered the 5751s with asymmetrical plate -- 2 punches one side and 1 on the other -- sounded best overall.
