New Balanced Pagoda

I just got my MHDT Labs balanced Pagoda today!!! It's replacing my (still extremely musical and good sounding) Scott Nixon Tube DAC +.

I'm extremely excited!

Hey, that is good news. I am a fairly recent single-ended to balanced convert and will be interested in your opinions on this DAC. Currently I have two balanced DACs, the Metrum Acoustics HEX (SS) and the Musical Paradise MP-D2 (tube). Each has its own character and both sound excellent. I'm still breraking in the MP-D2 as I added the Mundorf S/G/O coupling caps and all new tubes when it arrived.. A bit murky in the midrange and fat on the bottom right out of the gate but things are coming round nicely.

Always had a keen interest in the MHDT Labs. Please post your impressions for us.

I had a Havana Balanced DAC a couple of years ago, and it sounded very good (especially with NOS Tung Sol tubes).

So far I love it! My biggest problem is trying to find tubes. Of course the tubes I want (Bendix 6385, AEG 5670) are the rarest.

I'm very excited to tube roll, as I read that there is a worthwhile gain in performance to be had.

i would also reconmend the jupiter copper's for the output caps

hey !

its been awhile since i rolled tubes / caps with this dac.. i also own a metrum musette. the pagoda is not too far behind the musette with these upgrades. i would also consider these tubes :
