MQA streamer/renderer dacs

Do dacs with a built in renderer such as Mytek Manhattan ll, MSB, Aurender A10, etc., that are MQA enabled need a separate pc/Mac to do the complete MQA unfolding?

If they are certified MQA DACs and can accommodate the full resolution of the unfolded MQA file, then no. The MQA unfolding should work with a direct connection from the server to the DAC. The Myteks are an example. I'm not familiar enough with the others to give you an answer about them.

AFAIK the MQA decoding is strictly a function of the MQA certified DAC.  So like any other DAC it needs to fed a digital signal (recorded or streamed) from a PC/Mac or some other streaming device.

Aurender A10 definitely doesn't need anything external : handles everything internally.

Others Mqa dacs would need something to pass them the Mqa file such as a computer or Aurender server. All decoding would be done in the DAC.
