Tube Fan from NC
« on: 25 Mar 2017, 03:34 am »
I  have been an audiophile enthusiast for many, many years.  To put it in perspective it started when my older brother introduced me to the Meet the Beatles LP when it first came out, and continued as he bought 45's until he left for Vietnam.  I still remember having to insert those funny little 45 RPM plastic inserts to put them on my first Magnavox combination record player.

I have seen the major record stores close, witnessed the transition to 8 track, cassettes, CD's, and streaming music - and now back to vinyl.  Over the years I have gone from solid state to hybrid high wattage tubes, to my current thirst for phenomenal 1.5 to 2 Watt tube amplifiers.  My speakers have ranged from power hungry planar and conventional speakers to high efficiency horn and vintage speakers.

After searching for more and more information on high efficiency speakers and low wattage amplifiers I found myself reading more and more on this forum and figured I should stop lurking and "pay it forward" as my brother did for me those many years ago.
