The DVA M225 vs the M750
« on: 3 Jul 2023, 06:48 pm »
First, is there anyone who has done a side by side comparison of these amps?  Listening impression of that comparison?  Im leaning toward the M750’s.
For reference my system is:
Wiim pro streaming device
Emotiva XMC-2 pre pro
A large stack of B&K reference 2220 amps powering all channels of a dolby atmos dedicated HT room
Speakers are Statement 2 from Speaker design works.
When I use subs (turn them on) I have 4 rythmik servo 15 sealed in each corner.
Also have GR research open baffle 12” servo subs mainly for music.

Aside from home theater I do a ton of 2 channel listening.  I like some live, loud dynamics in rock as well as softer instrumental and jazz.  Im all over the music spectrum of genre.   Is there any reason to be talked out of spending the extra money for the 750’s over the 225’s.

They are going to sound the same except the 750's have more power.  What is the sensitivity and ohm rating of your speakers?

I reviewed the 225's for Frank and only heard the 750's at Franks.

The statement 2 is around 88db sensitive and I believe are approximately a 4ohm load.  By my math, around 512 watts to achieve 115db.  I typically would not demand that kind of SPL but that is the upper limit.  Am I again talking myself into a pair of 750’s?

Both the 225 and 750 would work great.
