Making sense now, thanks Tyson for the explanation. So although i prefer to not use my minidsp, i will bring it out to see just how much boost i need and if it works.then ill consider my options.

So I trotted out the minidsp and added enough boost to bring the frequency flat. It sounded like doo doo. I backed off on the boost. I lowered it to 6db of boost at 185hz. sounds ok but I need to spend some time with it.

You were probably clipping the DSP.

Are you doing measurement sweeps? It might be more helpful if you posted them.

I did sine sweeps and noise. results essentially the same. When I flattened the curve it sounded too thick. I think I need to make more measurements some in the listening position. These were made approx 1m from baffle. Dan did say I should back up to listening position.
