Any 626R or 626 Jr owners in So Cal (LA/OC area)?

I'm looking for a setup for both music & HT use.

Thanks - Michael

I am in South East Louisiana close to New Orleans and Baton Rouge.  All are welcome.  I have a two channel system highlighting the new RM-V60s.  The VLAs should be joining them before too long.

I became the owner of audio circle user BushBison's de-horned RM 30's a couple months ago. I've used different models of Acoustats since 1982 and I can't believe I've changed brands. Way, way beyond my expectations! Yes, they took a while to set up appropriately (surprise - what doesn't?). I'm saving now for a brand new pair of RM30's, loaded, or maybe something else VMPS...I'm completely sold.

I run them in a two channel system with:
a pair of ELAC supertweeters sitting on top
a pair of HSU VTF 2 MK 2 subs
Speltz autoformers
either an ARC 300.2 or VTL deluxe 140 mono-blocks upgraded by VTL to 160's
ARC Ref One preamp modified by Great Northern Sound Company, using (currently) a mix of BEL and Amperex Holland E188CC's
Theta Pearl transport and Museatex Idat M DAC (battery powered), both modified to the nines by John Wright
Bluenote Piccolo TT with B-5 Signature arm and Dynavector DV20XH
(currently working on installing a Rega 300 with Incognito wiring and counterweight mod with Pete Riggle's VTAF onto my old Technics SP10
Project Tubebox phono pre with RCA 7025's
Moray James interconnects and power cables, with speaker cables made by a local retailer (Loyalty Sound)
A couple of Richard Gray 400's and a Chang
Various Skylan platforms and tweaks

I'm in Calgary, Canada.

Again, I am staggered by these speakers - I just came back from the Montreal show and didn't hear anything that made me covet it!

Thanks for bearing with me - I'm a very happy camper.

any vmps owners in Indiana? There used to be a audio shop around that carried vmps, but not any more. Let me know if there are any users out there willing to do a demo. Thanks.

Anyone near the Durham, NC area? Have always been intrigued by VMPS and ribbon speakers and I'm interested in the RM30s in particular. If you are nearby and don't mind showing off a bit, please PM or drop me an email to pheroy@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Between Milwaukee and Chicago

I have a set of RM40's with the TRT caps. I use 2 channels of a Cinenova Grande 5 to power them. The rest of the system is crap, but am slowly upgrading.

Anyone in Austin Texas?

I just relocated from the Bay Area last week to Austin.

I'm in the Lake Travis area and have a pair of RM30's (Fully loaded as of a year ago (minus Boulder silver cable, TRTs, OXO).

I'm running the this system through a Tact RCS digital front end. You're welcome to come by for a listen but pardon my mess as we're still getting settled.

Kind regards,

-Gabriel

Jason, I am in OKC and have the VLAs and RM-V60s biamped with Mike Galusha's modified Behringer, SS on the bottom and tubes on the top. C'mon down sometime if you like.

We have a custom designed dedicated Home Theatre that features a beautiful pair of
VMPS Mini Towers II A's. They do have the following upgrades:
Soundcoat
Ribbon Super Tweeter
Focal Inverted Hard Dome Tweeter
Finish: Satin Black
These are employed in a conventional 2 channel stereo set-up, driven by a
Dynaco Tube Pre-amp/Sound Valves solid state power amp, and a 7.2 HT system driven by NAD and B&K electronics.
The sound is as good as I have heard, although we are planning to buy 2 new VMPS speakers (RM 2's) in the near future to upgrade the overall situation.
These Mini Towers, while considered classic in design, are still able to project the overall design philosophy and quality of sound that drives the people at VMPS. Brian's designs have a reputation for extended bass response, however the real value in these speakers lies in their lifelike mid-range reproduction.
Our location is in the North Texas (DFW) area. Come on by, have a listen and you'll see why I was sold from the first time my ears laid eyes on these items!
P.S. In a former life, I was a musician.
Update: RM2's will be here soon and the Mini Towers will be employed as center channel speakers in a "Head to Head" configuration. Stay tuned!

I am looking for a worthy upgrade for my ADS L1290/2's that I've been enjoying since 1986.  I was hoping to find an owner(s) of the VMPS RM2 and RM30 in the southeastern Virginia area (I'm in Hampton VA) that would be willing to let me audition them.

Thanks.

It's not looking like I'll be able to audition the RM30s after all.

I'm not sure if there are any off the shelf cables that will work. I sent my cable to a specialist to get it

adjusted to the correct length.

Did you contact Woodsyi?

He has RM40's in VA(Washington DC area)

or  Zheeeem?

He has RM30s in VA

I have also PM'd an RM30 owner in Vienna VA to see if he is available and open to audition for you.

Thanks for the contact information.

I did sent a PM to Zheeem but never received a response.  His post is a few years old, so I just figured he no longer had them or no longer visits this forum (or maybe doesn't want to offer auditions anymore?).

I wasn't aware of the other contacts you mentioned.  I'll see if I can contact Woodsyi and appreciate your effort to contact the owner in Vienna.

Update:  Just tried to PM Woodsyi,  his PM box is full. :(
