Brad

I will have my system set up and playing, except for the turntable.

Sources are:

Marantz SA8003 SACD player
Logitech Squeezebox Duet with Bolder mods and Bolder Power supply

Preamp is an Audio Mirror PP1

Amps are:

Niteshade Audio 6L6 push-pull tube amp
Tim Rawson built Pass F5

Speakers are still the Hawthorne Audio Open Baffle Duets.

As usual, we'll be handing out some free cerveza.
Bring some music by or just come hang out and listen.

I think we also need to plan a Saturday night dinner at Dodies  :D

Will any of the vendors be bringing speakers with mark audio drivers? With so much being written about them, i'd be very interested in checking them out ...

Brad

I didn't see any on the vendor list, but I'm also not sure how up to date it is.

Hey Guys,

Dave Elledge was coming and bringing some new Uberbuss's and stuff, but I just got word that he can't make it.

So I am going to bring my personal Majik Buss and some new cabling that I am carrying, and I'll let some of you guys try them out.

I am not sure which day I will make it down for yet but will let you guys know. See you there if you're there.

Anyone know if Pi and Classic Audio speakers be set up when the doors open on Friday, or, if I wanted to hear that gear would I be better off waiting until Saturday?

I'll try to bring one of the Virtue amps down (running on batteries) to see what some of you guys think about it.

I am also headed over to Gary's to hear the new battery powered tube amp.

I am bummed that I only noticed this Festival now, the day it's happening. My own fault for not checking here earlier but I do wonder how much advertising they do to get the word out - I'd love to be there but it seems hardly worth going for the sunday morning session.

I think the word didn't get around as much as it probably should have been ... i was there today, and was surprised at the low number of attendees and exhibitors. Last time i was here, two floors were taken up by the fest, but this time around it was just one.

Of the ones i visited, i really liked the large ESLs from crescendo. Also the new speaker from van zyl audio with jordan jx92s and aurum cantus G2si tweeter sounded great as well. The amount of bass that designer Johan was able to extract from this speaker at times overwhelmed the room though. Regulars like Audio Note, Audio Mirror, Bob Brines and Jumping Cactus were there as well.

The big Classic Audio speakers driven by Atma-Sphere amps sounded very nice: big, alive, credible.

These were really good in such a cramped and crappy room.  I'd like to hear them in a bigger space, maybe my place...
