Oppo BDP-105 as USB DAC question
« on: 8 Dec 2015, 02:57 pm »
Does anyone know whether the *Blueray player* default input selection upon power-up can be reset to *USB Audio 2.0*? Because the deck lacks a hardware input selector, this needs to be done with the remote and toggling through various options each time the machine boots up from standby. It's just a bit inconvenient in a pure audio system where the Oppo is used as a USB DAC, not disc or video player.  I can't find any small print in the manual that explains whether this can done or not -:)

I don't know the answer to your question specifically, however, I have the RS232 codes that I use with Irule to discreetly select the input source.

OPPO BDP-105D RS232 USB Audio Source code: #SIS 7\X0D.

don't know if this helps, but it is possible to bypass the menu and select an input directly via RS232 control.

I was thinking the same idea, except via IR codes.  Create a macro on a universal (Pronto, etc) to execute the same.  Also, maybe the standby settings (quick vs default) would keep the 105 in same input mode?

The real problem is that Oppo sees this as a BD player with USB DAC, so defaults and over-riding emphasis is having it always available to play movies from the get-go.

There is an option in the onscreen menu to remember the last input.

Thanks, guys. I'll look for the 'remember last input' option. Coding a macro is a good alternate idea. Gracias!

This was one of the first things I did when I got my 105D.

Yep.  I use my 105 as a DAC for the SAT TV.   So, I have it default to the COAX from the receiver.  Works great.
