GRS 10PF-8 10" Paper Cone for open baffle
« on: 8 Oct 2016, 04:37 pm »
I wanted to get some feedback on how the GRS 10PF-8 10" Paper Cone woofers look for open baffle?
I was thinking of trying something like a Paper trio 10 with these.  They have a high qts.  I would do two on each side and use a minidsp to cross over to either a Vifa 3.5 full range of a tweeter.
Just wondering if anyone has tried these?
Thanks

The T/S specs look good for OB, Qts of ~1.2 and fs in the mid 40's are a great combination, and cost is very low. But the SPL of 87 dB/W/m coupled with a 3 mm Xmax may limit you on how loud you can play the finished speakers. Two drivers per side will help. There is a reason that 15" woofers are popular for OB, higher SPL/W/m.
