Isn't anything stock?

Thumbnail for self modded Scanspeak 717 - Initially purchased from "Just Speakers" in California (now defunct). I've upgraded the crossovers using Sonicaps, removed all the long wool stuffing and installed Black Hole 5, and swapped out the interior wiring. I've also recently changed the crossover to accommodate bi-wiring. The end result is far more extension and openness over the entire spectrum. Exceptionally natural with a lot of finess and inner detail - and musical.
Thumbnail for DIY seismic sink stands, using MDF for the boxes and Ikea butcher block for the shelf tops. The side pieces are an Ikea butcher block table that I cut to size. 50lbs of sand in each box. These suckers are heavy!
Thumbnail for Initially made by Hollywood Sound in Florida, this 1" Corian plinth uses a VPI MK III platter, stand alone Aries motor and a Moerch DP6 tonearm and Dynevector 20X-H cartridge. Its standing on a 1" maple board with large bubble wrap underneath. All that on my DIY seismic sink stands.
Thumbnail for A view of the listening chair. Lots of albums & CD's in easy reach. My wife made the quilt hanging over the room treatment behind the seat.
Thumbnail for New GIK panels at the first reflection points really helped define the soundstage in my new basement room. Hanging one in the front corner and on the rear wall behind the listening chair helped tame the unruly bass humps I found there too. Sounds good now, as Nipper will attest.
Thumbnail for Teac 2345 4 Track Reel to Reel - recently resurrected and utterly musical.
Thumbnail for Hagerman Coronet phono stage
Thumbnail for Audio Prism Debut II - 6CA7 or EL 34's - I've been swapping between this and the Mc Cormack, unable to decide which I like more (different strengths and pleasures of SS vs tubes, ya' know)
Thumbnail for a built into the corner bass trap - I needed to do something with this space and a bass trap seemed the logical choice
Thumbnail for Mpingo Tuning Dragon - he adds enormous space and holographic imaging to the sound - a new focal point in my listening room (just kidding)
Thumbnail for On the left: Audio Prism Mantissa, Empiracal Audio modded Sony DVP-7700 as transport into a self modded ART DI/O DAC, near rev-A self modded McCormack DNA .5. On the right: DIY Turntable with Corian plinth, Hagerman Coronet, Jon Risch power conditioner and Mantissa outboard power supply. Audio Prism Debut II amp. All sitting on my DIY seismic sink racks (50lbs of sand in each shelf). That's a Rel Strata III sub in the back with a Teac 2340 4 channel R-2-R on top.
Thumbnail for A tube trap above and behind the racks. Surprisingly found some boom in this area, which can't be good for the component isolation.
