FYI. Dennis Murphy reports on post 5367 at http://www.avsforum.com/forum/89-speakers/1348949-philharmonic-audio-dennis-murphy-179.html that Parts Express will soon begin offering BG Neo 8 "and possibly other drivers."

I have talked (a lot) to the company that owns the drivers and had the designer of the drivers and the owner of the company that makes them at my house. So I have a pretty good insight as to what's going on.

Might this be a direct bolt in replacement for any prior Neo 8's? (as in the LS6 or LS9)

Hopefully I'm wrong, but having a new design work as a "drop in" replacement is unlikely.

I was assuming/hoping the enclosure of the ribbon would remain the same and the actual driver element might be what gets upgraded/changed.

Danny is (I assume) talking about a newly designed planar magnetic tweeter presumably shorter in height than current planar magnetic tweeters, BG or otherwise.

Short tweeter... Can be used in anything, open or closed back. It has good dispersion in all directions.

Tall tweeter, limited vertical dispersion. Applications: line sources only open or closed back.
