  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

My PC supply blows some Varistors in a huge strike about 50m near my building.

Just on time and  I lost most everything :uzi: :flame:

After that  I added a whole house surge protection at my side of the meter and I then ramped up the rest of my surge equipment.    And then imoved from the thunderstorm and tornado ridden Kansas to the land slides and wild fires of Oregon.

Could possibly be a voltage dip rather than a spike, caused by a ground fault somewhere upstream.

Voltage dips don't damage electronic equipment.

A whole house surge protection system is the way to go.
But lightning spikes can still sneak in through the telephone, cable TV or satellite TV wires from outside.

Nothing was said about equipment damage, only that it wasn't operating correctly at times.
