Bumping policy

BUMPS
1. weekly bumps are permitted.
2. changes in pricing are a permitted bump at anytime. No, one dollar reductions are not acceptable and will be considered a bump.
3. Violations will result in the whole thread moved to the waste bin.

If you need to bump your ad often perhaps you should consider lowering your price.

Yea, but agon is not the audio community that I've been a part of for the last several years. It's more of a meat market than a community.
Things here are defiinetly different.

I like the new rule. I find it incredibly annoying when something priced a little too high is bumped day after day after day. It's spam.

Yes Mark this is an audio community and as such I think you'll find that the majority of the members wanted this new rule which was a reason for instituting it in the 1st place.

I like to think of is as part of the TP Guide...how to do something vs. what you must do. But, since we all don't think alike we must have rules.

I'd agree that the weekly bumping policy is good.

HOWEVER, if people feel the need to bump frequently it could be a sign that there are too many ads in a particular category.

Personally I'd rather see a separate category for electronic components such as: "Tubes, Capacitors, Resistors, Chokes, Transformers, Sockets, Solder, etc." I don't think they belong lumped in with "Cables, AC, Tweaks, Stands, Acoustic Control, Portable Devices, Headphones, etc".

It's two different markets. The DIY'ers and those that only want to listen. I don't consider electronic components to be accessories.

Maybe, like me, you "love" (sarc) the "price reduced" note, AKA: "overly optimistic" seller coming down to earth!

If the scam is not pricing an item artificially high then bumping it daily with as small price reductions as you think you can get away with, then it's

- posting the ad without photos and making a new post the following day with photos followed by yet another new post the next day with additional photos.

- purposely leaving out vital information like price or location in a transparent attempt to elicit those questions then making new posts to answer. ("oops!")

Of course in those cases the original post should simply be edited with the missing information and wait out the week like everyone else before bumping with new posts.

What do they call those types of auctions where the seller randomly (2-3x per week) lowers the cost by random amounts till it finally sells? Those are weird, but interesting ways to sell. Persons watching the price reductions gamble as the price falls: if I don't buy it today, several others might want it at the next lower price reduction, and they might purchase before I do....oh the humanity!
