Is anyone using Tidal with a ****Rendu? I want to know if it will work.

Just wondering if the Tidal audio signal can go to the NAS and the the Rendu?

From Sonore's page:

"Supports Tidal and Qobuz lossless streaming in Squeezelite output mode and DLNA output mode"

I did what Jesus suggested and Tidal is working fine thru my ultraRendu.  Nice to get such fast, accurate response to my question

Look at his post (VortecJR) above.

Okay, I see. Thanks.

I'm not using a computer, but I am using an iPad with Lightning DS to control an Aries Mini which I feed into a DAC via USB. Would a Rendu be of any use in this context ...or is it more intended for a computer based system?

I'm not knowledgeable to answer your question.  Perhaps someone else here can help you.

Ultra Rendu via ROON (on a PC Core) w a NAS as storage.

Works like a charm... so far.

I don't think so.  Rendu and Aries are digital streamer hardwares.  You use SonicOrbitor software with Rendu and Lightening software with Aries.  Roon will run both hardwares but you are paying additionally for the third party software,  which may or may not be worth the extra cost.  I think it is but some may not think so.

Thanks Woodsyi, that is very helpful. I'm so new to all of this it is a bit intimidating. Now I'm wondering what to do with all my CDs; is there any point in keeping a music collection when you have access to pretty much everything thru Tidal?

Rip the CD's lossless to a large USB stick or portable USB drive, and plug it into the Mini. Then just use Tidal for everything else. Other than something I can't find in Tidal I rarely buy a CD or download anymore, and I used to buy a LOT. Now that the ECM Jazz catalog is finally on Tidal, I'm all set  :thumb:

If you already have the CDs, you rip them and store them in a storage connected to your home network (NAS) or directly attach it to your Aris mini (DAS).   You can then access them through your Aris mini or ****Rendu if you go that route.  If you don't have (m)any CDs, the question becomes philosophical and you have to decide what you are comfortable with, like choosing to lease or buy your car.  I personally use both.  Tidal doesn't have everything I listen to but then I get exposed to a lot of new stuff on Tidal.  Bonus for Tidal is that my teenager loves it even if she is listening to it through her phone which doesn't do justice to the extra I pay for the hirez option.

Wow... It's tough to keep up w all this music. Just listened to "Crystal Silence"-  Chic Corea/Gary Burton and

down loaded to my NAS... sounds terrific. It's a great time to be an audiophile!
