I have subscribed to all 4 operas in the Ring (in 2 weeks) next year. While I was walking around in downtown mall in Charlottesville, Va I came across this book
The Lay of the Niebelungs and bought it. I figured I should know the whole story to appreciate the bit that Wagner borrowed for his Ring Cycle. The essay that prefixes the Lay is quite illuminating. I now see that the whole book is on line.
