New MKII Upgrade Power Supplies!
« on: 10 Mar 2012, 03:30 pm »
We are working on a new line of MKII upgrade power supplies for a variety of products.
The first 3 models will be tightly regulated DC output and available in 5v, 9v, and 12v.
The MKII models will also sport an all new heavy aluminum chassis, higher current transformers, Schurter IEC AC socket with power switch, user selectable input voltage, and extremely low ripple & noise.

We need your help in knowing what products you'd like to use them with, so we can design cables and test for compatibility. Let us know your ideas!

Yep, we will have models for all the SB's, Wadia 170/171i, maybe Simaudio.
We may also make AC versions for Bellari, Cambridge, etc.

What we need to know are:

#1 what products would you like a supply for?

#2 what are the power specs/requirements?
(voltage, current, AC or DC)

#3 what type of input connector is used?

Thanks,
Dusty

I would like to see power supplies for the Simaudio Moon 100D and 100LP (both use the same power supply) @
18V DC / 0.4A

Do you know the size of the center pin of the connector? Looks to be either 2.1mm or 2.5mm

...and it looks like the current version (110LP) requires 12V DC

I cannot tell what size it is and there is no specs listed in any of the documentation or on their website...I will contact Simaudio tomorrow.

I think there is a typo in their manual...both the 100D and the 100LP have the same 18V requirement listed on the back of the units and I checked the power supplies (wall warts) for both of my units and they use the same power supply. (18V 0.4A)

I was talking about the current model 110LP (not 100LP).
http://www.simaudio.com/moon110LP.htm

The rear photo shows 12V DC, but the owners manual says 18V DC.

I have the 110LP and it is 18V, same as the 100D.

Badge,

I see all 4 of your posts have your comment contained within another poster's quote.  You just need to locate your own comment after the ending {/quote} tag.

I had contacted Simaudio on Monday regarding the pin size, however they had to look into it and I have not received an answer yet.

1) Audio Alchemy DLC

(2 & 3) I know it's been a while but figure you'd still have an inkling ;)

Sorry but we won't be making anything for the Alchemy products...

They require a "+" and "-" voltage and would require a completely different design.
Also, there isn't enough demand as they've been out of business over 15 years.

Any chance you can make them in black, say to match the Touch?

All supplies will be clear anodized brushed aluminum finish (and look very nice).

I'll post photos in about 2 weeks.
